Privacy

The Action is in full compliance with European legislation on the processing of personal data. The following are the cases in which personal data and associated details may be collected (data type, collection method, retention time, etc.):

Communication with the Action

The communication with the Action is done via e-mail at constdelib@uclouvain.be or via message through our contact form. The email/message (as well as any subsequent communication to and from the Actions) is maintained in the the Action's record. The personal data collected in this case is only the e-mail address and any data (e.g., name and surname, content, etc.) may be present within the above-referenced email/message and subsequent communication.

Email list registration

For subscription to the email list of the Action, your name and e-mail address will be collected for the purpose of sending updates on conferences, publications, and other Action news. The above data is retained until there is a request for their deletion by the owner of the data through email/message at the contact information of the Action.

Registration for activities

For your registration at conferences, events and other activities of the Action, either as a presenter, as attendee, or in another capacity, your name, e-mail address you and other relevant information (e.g. a profession, a study or work place, etc.) may be collected. The purpose of collecting this information relates only to the specific activity for which it is collected, and this registration is not automatically a subscription to the the Action's email list (above). If there is a simultaneous subscription to the email list, the details of the above section apply accordingly, while, if there is no such subscription, the information is deleted 1 month after the end of the specific activity at the latest.

Embedded content of other sites

The material on this site may contain embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.) from other sites. This material behaves in exactly the same way as a visit has visited the other site. These other sites may collect your information, use cookies, integrate additional tracking, and track your interaction with embedded content if you have an account and are linked to that site.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the Action’s site, the information that appears in the comment form as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string are collected to avoid spam. Also, an anonymous string created by your email address (also called hash) can be given to Gravatar to see if you are using this service. The Gravatar privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is finally approved, your profile picture will be visible to the public as part of your comment.

Beyond the above and possible exercise of the statutory authority of public services, the Action does not share any personal data with any third party (natural or legal person) for any purpose, nor does it receive any data from any such party.

The Action takes all necessary security measures for the proper and effective storage of the above data. If a breach is found, the Unit will inform the parties concerned and the competent authorities of all relevant details within 48 hours.
